With that much going on, roads in the Patong province may be entirely blocked off, especially at night. What Is There to See In and Around Patong when Renting a Car?

The largest tourist attraction is the Big Buddha at the south end of the island; there are also many small and quiet beaches to check out. For a real adventure with your car hire, you may want to head north to the famous Phang Nga Bay with its stunning limestone karsts rising high above the ocean’s surface. 

If you want the same experience but with more nature, you can alternatively drive your car to Khao Sok National Park. This park has lake tours with fantastic views that are just as stunning as those of Phang Nga Bay. Either tour experience usually includes a fantastic lunch of freshly caught fish and other southern Thai delights. You can easily access this park by car and make it into a day trip.
